Ecuador Needs Our Help

Dear Friends.

As we move into this new year and the beginning of an amazing era that has been anticipated by indigenous people around the world for many centuries (2012, the Eagle and Condor, Age of Aquarius to name just a few of the prophecies), it is time for each of us to take action. I urge you to join me in helping our sisters and brothers in the Amazon protect their lands and cultures and in doing so to create a new dream for all life.

A challenge — and opportunity — is developing in the southern Amazon of Ecuador, an area where I have worked personally for the past three decades. The government is rolling out plans for oil exploitation in the entire 5 million acres. The indigenous organizations are staunchly opposed and asking for international solidarity and support. An international campaign to halt this plan is being developed by The Pachamama Alliance (which grew out of a trip I led back in the early ’90s) and other NGOs working in this region. I am giving them my support with a year-end donation and I ask you to join me. To find out more please click here.

May we all enter this new era with open hearts and a renewed determination to create a world the children of all sentient beings will want to inherit.

Many thanks and much love,
